ACTING Ballarat Miners coach Grant Spencer says he is quietly confident leading into tomorrow night's clash with heavyweight Dandenong.
The Rangers have won seven matches straight but Spencer said the Miners were particularly competitive against any team when home at the Minerdome.
Spencer steps up at the helm for Miners coach Guy Molloy, who is in China coaching an Australian under-17 boys' tour.
As Molloy's long-serving assistant, Spencer has done his homework on the Rangers and said he was excited about what he could bring to the team.
Spencer said that, like any week, the Miners leaders — including captain Ryan Barnes — were expected to lead the charge and had a chance to really make an impact in this important clash.
