VFL: Roosters bounce back with bite

North Ballarat Roosters coach Gerard FitzGerald has praised his team's great win against Coburg.

FitzGerald told his players to enjoy the win, learn from it and be ready for a big test against Box Hill on the road next week.

The 27-point victory is the Roosters second win this Victorian Football League season.

They returned from a bye round determined to claw back into the mix of a tight ladder.

FitzGerald told players and supports a win in Box Hill next would well and truly put his team's season back on track.

Returned forward Paul McMahon and Kangaroos-listed tall Aaron Black booted four goals apiece in win against Coburg on Saturday.

Richmond-listed tall Jayden Post kicked six goals five in the third quarter - for Coburg.

Play was tight through the first half with scores 29 points in the Roosters favour at half-time.

Coburg piled on a eight-goal to two third quarter to snatch the lead and opened the fourth quarter with a major.

The Roosters replied with the next eight goals.
