THE LAKE Wendouree rowing course is in "excellent" shape for Saturday's Victorian Masters Rowing Championships.
Ballarat Rowing Association president and Rowing Victoria board member Eric Waller said all was ready for the state regatta — the first championship event on the lake in more than decade.
The one-day event is a dress rehearsal for the Australian Masters, which will be contested over four days on Lake Wendouree from Thursday, May 24.
Waller said the 1000-metre course was in top shape, with the finishing touches to event infrastructure being put in place over the next few days.
This includes a $50,000 photo finish system being used in Ballarat for the first time by Rowing Victoria.
More than 60 events will be rowed on Saturday, beginning at 9am.
