FIRE has destoyed a fish and chip shop in Mount Clear tonight.
Fire crews were called to the shop, located at the Midvale Shopping Centre, about 8.50pm.
They found the shop fully engulfed and worked to control the blaze, while staff and shoppers from the nearby supermarket were evacuated.
Nine crews brought the fire under control by 9.20pm.
A CFA spokesman told
It is not believed to be suspicious.
He said adjoining shops in the complex suffered smoke and water damage.
