BFL: East Point victorious with kick after siren

EAST POINT'S Sam Kitchin has kicked a goal after the siren to give the Kangaroos a three point victory over North Ballarat City at Eureka Stadium.

Kitchin marked a ball within kicking distance of goal as the siren blew and kicked accurately, the Kangaroos home 16.11 (107) to North City's 14.20 (104).

Dan Jordan had been the hero for East Point prior to that, with eight goals, despite the best efforts of Brendan Howard.

However North Ballarat City was perhaps its own worst enemy, with the last six behinds of the match before Kitchin's sealer.

Jordan, Jason Delaney and Daniel Tung were among East Point's best, while Jason McNamara, Keenan George, Shawn Lyle and Robert Lockett were busy for the home team.

Lake Wendouree registered its first victory of the season, downing Melton 16.16 (112) to 16.10 (106) at MacPherson Park by six points.

Redan defeated Darley 14.11 (95) to 10.9 (69), while Sunbury defeated Bacchus Marsh 10.16 (76) to 7.10 (52).
