Two in hospital after Ballarat crashes

TWO people were taken to hospital after separate accidents yesterday.

At 7.30 last night, a van and a car containing two 18-year-old women collided in Sturt Street, at the corner of Russell Street. Both women avoided serious injury, but the driver of the van, a 59-year-old man, was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital.

CFA crews worked for about 20 minutes to free the driver of the van, who was taken to hospital.

She was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital and was transferred to The Alfred hospital in Melbourne in a stable condition.
