VICTORIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Victorian Football League outclassed an honourable Tasmanian State League at Hobart on Saturday.
The TSL kicked the first goals of the first three quarters but the VFL response came thick and fast.
North Ballarat trio Myles Sewell, Dean Towers and Liam Hoy were each in strong form at Bellerive Oval.
Sewell (from Newlyn) chalked up 26 possessions in a star onball unit with Port Melbourne duo Shane Valenti and captain John Baird.
The 24-year-old was named in the VFL's best with Towers, who caught attention for his speed and run from the packs into goal.
Towers (from Colac) lifted his game in a stellar fourth quarter.
Liam Hoy (from Warrnambool) played a solid role in the VFL's tight backlines, which were directed by North Ballarat Roosters coach Gerard FitzGerald.
Hoy has 19 possessions and impressed with his athletic spoil attempts.

Rival Geelong Football League ran out 27-point victors at Ballarat's Eastern Oval on Saturday in senior football.
Tough Redan onballer Jarrod Edwards won the VCFL medal for best on ground but the BFL named Melton South defender Leigh Burke as its best.
The Sunbury brigade were in strong form, led by Brett Chambers starring on the back flank. Cameron McCabe and Ross Sleight worked hard.
Geelong was effectively one man down for three and a half quarter with one player sustaining a hamstring injury.
But their depth proved hard to match.
Geelong vice-captain Daniel Lovick destroyed Ballarat in the Geelong back lines.
