I believe that setting a carbon tax will benefit us in the long run.
The carbon tax hasn't been brought in for nothing. It is to help our environment, help change the way our major companies pollute.
If they don't pollute, we begin to receive fresher, cleaner air and water. Only for the short term we will notice the change and impact to our prices.
Prices will rise slightly because we are the consumers that purchase the goods from these 500 companies that are polluting our air.
Soon enough the companies will find an alternative to how they produce the goods and learn to pollute less, for the reason that they will want to pay less tax.
Companies will research ways to pollute less, which will then bring our prices that went up back down again.
By having the 'carbon tax' Australia is showing leadership and stepping up to the problems of climate change with positive climate action.
