Production supervisor

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is to manage production with minimal downtime, delivering a positive and safe working environment. You will be assisting the Production Manager and be responsible for the supervision and direction of the production team both day and afternoon shifts. 

As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and optimising the team along the production lines, ensuring production performance expectations and targets are achieved. 

Key responsibilities:

• Manage, plan and run the day-to-day operational activities for the production team
• Ensure client deadlines are always met
• Conduct forecasts to identify potential risks
• Assist with staff rostering, performance reviews, training, and development
• Maintain a safe working environment
• Assist in project management of trials for new product lines  
• Review and improve current business processes and drive change
• Workforce planning
• Liaise with laboratory staff to ensure all products including new and improved products meet specifications
• Improve QA & OH&S processes and procedures to ensure compliance
• Identify and resolve any Quality issues, hazards and risks.

To be successful you will have the following skills and attributes:

• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Production or Operations Supervisor role essential
• Well-developed interpersonal & communication skills
• Strong leadership skills 
• The ability to work and communicate with people from all levels
• Demonstrated competency time management
• Good understanding of manufacturing practises
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel
• Strong  people management and conflict resolution skills
