Our new role

We are thrilled to announce this new opportunity to join MRL. Our newly created Project Manager role will oversee our contract mining operations.

We are an integral part of our client’s mining operations, providing essential support as they strive to attain budgeted targets for iron ore. We are united together in our approach to delivering on two fundamental aspects; safety and production. We strongly believe this is led from the highest levels onsite; you.

You will have several key relationships internally, as well as ensuring the association with our Client is maintained. Reporting to our Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing our site leaders.

Contract based work is unique to all mining operations. It is critical that you are confident and capable when managing the commercial expectations of all parties.

Essential Responsibilities;

• Maintain and foster a working environment which promotes safety in all that we do, whilst also providing outstanding service
• Lead by example at all times and demonstrating high performance through clear expectations and direction
• Ensure the safe, timely and efficient delivery of the Mining Operation’s targets whilst continuing to drive standards, reduce cost and improve output
• Manage project schedules to ensure deadlines are met and team members are kept informed on progress
• Ensure the substantial heavy equipment fleet is maintained and utilised effectively
• Champion the development of the teams to achieve their career goals
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders internally/ externally

What you’ll bring to the team

• Previous experience in a similar role; managing operational and commercial contract outcomes
• Demonstrated experience managing successful mining operations within Australia
• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology or related discipline is desirable
• Unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate
• Positive approach to implementation and execution of pragmatic safety management
• Strong understanding of Safety Management and associated legislative requirements
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing diverse teams
• A flair for challenging the norm and doing things differently
