The 16-year-old was camping with friends and family at Echuca when, at 8.30pm, he ran off into thick bushland.
Since then, unconfirmed sightings at Southern Cross Station in Melbourne, at Lake Boga and at Swan Hill have all turned out to be dead ends.
His family have not given up hope that their brother and son is still alive, but they’re concerned his story is losing momentum in the community.
Now Donny’s sisters Rachael O’Keane and Jacinta Jackson are planning a bike ride from the same Echuca campsite to the Ballarat Skate Park in Main Road.
The girls plan to do the ride in 12 hours and are hosting a free barbecue at the skate park when they get back.
“We’re going to stop in Bendigo and we’re inviting everyone who has ever had a loved one go missing to join us for the last half of the ride,” she said.
“We just want to raise awareness for Donny to remind people that he is still a missing person, and also to raise awareness for missing people everywhere,” she said.
To join Donny’s sisters on their ride, contact them through the Facebook page ‘Missing Donald Govan’. A barbecue will be held at the Ballarat Skate Park at 6pm on November 25.
