We had hundreds of children entering craft, individually and through their schools, superb needlework from young and old, cooking and cake decorating worthy of the finest kitchens in the country.
Kids handled ponies, laughed at the urinating cows, were educated in the special art of beekeeping, wandered through the Poultry pavilion and were awed by the sight of tiny chicks.
Goats got milked, cream and butter were made on the spot from dairy cows milked in the shed. Showbags , rides and all the thrill of the show was there.
Foot tapping music , magic shows and astonishing displays of snake handling happened all weekend. Cute rabbits, elegant cats, and a fine display of good local sheep filled the Pavilion.
And on the oval young people galloped their horses, leapt the jumps on the bikes and laughed at the splendid antics of the 'police cow' slapstick show.
A fantastic opportunity to remind ourselves that we are a part of a massive and growing rural Victorian community, that we remember and treasure our agricultural history and appreciate all the bounty of the country and just how lucky we are to have it all brought together to enjoy.
