Last Saturday's second placing in the group two Zipping Classic behind Tanby was expected to be the horse's final run this preparation, but connections are seriously considering running the six-year-old in this weekend's $200,000 feature.
Terry O'Sullivan told The Courier that a decision on whether to run Exceptionally in the race would be made after a veterinary inspection on the horse tomorrow.
O'Sullivan said the mare appeared to have pulled-up well from the last-start outing and rated her a better than 50 per cent chance of starting in the 2200m event on Sunday.
"It's probably a bit of an afterthought, but it's a bloody nice race and she's fit and really well. She hasn't won so she shouldn't get treated too badly by the handicapper," O'Sullivan said.
The 2012 edition of the Ballarat Cup is shaping as big one with news that Jamie Edwards and Bruce Elkington-trained Sertorius and Darren Weir's in-form Streets Away are likely to target the race.
