The Ballarat’s Worst Kitchen competition, the most popular in The Courier’s history, attracted more than 102 entries.
The five finalists — Marcia King, Ramsay and Erin Beacham, Tegan Johnson, Marg Maher and Monica Leahy — opened up their homes yesterday in the hope their kitchen would be deemed the worst.
Realistic Kitchens’ Malcolm Alexander said choosing a winner was going to be tough.
“Everyone has a story and they’re all deserving people who all need new kitchens,” he said. The winner, to be announced on Tuesday, will receive a Realistic Kitchens renovation. The prize includes a kitchen renovation of up to $20,000 supplied by Malcolm Alexander’s Realistic Kitchens, including taps and sinkware, door selection from Polytec, hardware and fittings from Hettich Australia, benchtops and splashbacks by Laminex and a range of Modena appliances.
Ballarat’s Worst Kitchen had been The Courier’s most successful online photo competition to date.
