I would like to congratulate every one of these students. Whether it is the culmination of 13 years of schooling, or the end of a very big year in Prep, finishing a year at school is an important milestone.
The end of a school year is a particularly big step when students are finishing their secondary schooling. To the students who achieved the results they hoped for, I offer my congratulations.
And to those who hoped for a higher score than they gained, it is important to remember that pursuing a particular line of work doesn't entirely rely on your VCE results. There are always other options that lead to a fulfilling career.
Finally, I'd like to say a very big thank you to the hundreds of teachers in our local schools. Teachers are dedicated to making sure young people are able to make the most of their gifts and opportunities. I believe their commitment needs to be acknowledged and better rewarded."
