Burglars need to be caught red-handed

Reading the front page of The Courier dated December 27, I noticed there was 708 residential burglaries committed between October 2011 and September 2012 in Ballarat.

The question needs to be asked: in how many of the 708 burglaries has a culprit been apprehended held accountable?

I believe when the thieves are caught, maybe they should have their hands dyed blue so we all know they are thieves because it’s a really dreadful feeling when you return home and find your house has been ransacked and your personal belongings have been taken.
