According to J Play — a site used to track the songs aired on triple j — Twinsy’s debut single Water Bombs was triple j’s third most-played track of 2012.
Twinsy was formed after two well-known Ballarat musicians decided to team up — Michael Belsar from Hunting Grounds and Guy Chappell from Yacht Club DJs.
Twinsy's manager Shaun Adams said featuring on the 100 most-played collection came as a pleasant surprise.
“We knew the song got a lot of plays over the year but we certainly didn’t expect it to get so high,” Mr Adams said.
“I don’t think a Ballarat act has had as much airplay on the radio since Epicure about six or seven years ago.”
Hunting Grounds came in at number 87 with its track Flaws taken from debut album In Hindsight.
Coming in at number one on the list was Parachute Youth’s Can’t Get Better Than This with Major Lazer’s Get Free taking out the second position.
