Creswick defeated Daylesford 76-62, and Victoria, on its home ground, was defeated by Daylesford 76-62.
Although, the final points from yesterday’s matches won’t be contributed to the ladder as more than half of the matches were abandoned.
Creswick ladies’ tournament director Beth Huntley said, although their points didn’t hold up, they were glad to come out with a win.
Battling through the heat, two of Creswick’s rinks came out on top.
Judith Caddy’s rink defeated Lois Voterakis 26-19 and Jean Rhook beat Dot Bull 26-17.
“Jean Rhook and Judith Caddy’s rinks were up most of the day, and my rink was leading as well,” Huntley said.
“Jo Bull took a five on the last end to win the rink.”
The BDBD rule for the midweek pennant stipulates that play will be abandoned if the temperature on the site thermometer reaches 36 degrees, causing the other three matches to be abandoned.
“When the temperature forecast is so high – you don’t know what to do. We played through,” Huntley said.
Daylesford team manager and match committee member Dot Bull said they were lucky to finish before it hit 37 degrees.
