Central Highlands U/18 boys on top

A CENTURY from Patrick McKenna continued Central Highlands’ unbeaten run in the under-18 boys state cricket championships yesterday.

McKenna made 120 in the Highlanders’ total of 8-225 before snaring two wickets as rivals Mallee Murray Bulls were bowled out for 175 in reply at Melbourne’s Princess Park. Jack Peeters was the other Central Highlands batsman to get on top of the opposition, making 42, while Josh Tong was the pick of the bowlers with 3-27.

Central Highlands, which beat Barwon Rockets on Sunday, now prepare for a clash with Western Waves at Harry Trott Oval today.
