Among the students who received their first preference was former Loreto College student Rhylee Hanrahan, who got into Criminology and Law at Deakin University in Geelong.
Ms Hanrahan, who achieved an ATAR in the high 80s, admitted she was fairly confident as she checked the offers yesterday.
“I worked hard for my score... so I was just hopeful,” she said.
“I logged on right on 2pm but the server crashed so I had to wait another half an hour to find out.”
The 18-year-old said the first people she called was her mum and dad.
“They have been so supportive of me so I rang them straight away,” she said.
“They were really happy and took me out for dinner to celebrate.”
University first-round offer details are available online via MyInfo on www.vtac.edu.au. Students will need their VTAC ID and PIN to log in.
