WITH a date for the 2013 Federal election now set, the Australian Electoral Commission is reminding Ballarat residents to make sure they are correctly enrolled for the upcoming election.
AEC Ballarat divisional manager Adrian Claridge said all eligible voters should check their address was up-to-date on the electoral roll.
"Some people missed out on their vote at previous federal elections because they were not enrolled, or didn't check, until it was too late," he said.
"By enrolling or updating your address now, you will be ready to vote whenever the election is called."
To enrol to vote or update your details, visit aec.gov.au or visit any AEC office, Australia Post outlet, Medicare or Centrelink office.
It is compulsory for all Australian citizens 18 years and over to enrol to vote .
Federal provisional enrolment is also available to 16 and 17 year olds in preparation for being able to vote .
