Mr Keyte and his fellow Ballarat Polo Club members are looking forward to showing off their sport at this Sunday’s Yaloak Polo Tournament.
He said the annual tournament, a prestigious event on the Australian polo calendar, would double as a family day out, with market stalls, helicopter rides and Findon Harrier Hunt hounds on parade.
It would also attract players from around Australia, with up to 21 teams expected to participate on the day.
Mr Keyte described polo as “rugby on horseback”.
“It’s fast and furious and that’s why we get such a good following.”
