Cricket: Country Week starts with a loss

Ballarat has started its Melbourne Country Week campaign with a defeat at the hands of South West at Geelong.

South West scored 234, all out, off its 50 overs. 

Paceman Peter Moore from Darley finished with figures of 4-41 off 10 overs.

The BCA XI was then bowled out for 193 runs off 46 overs.

Top scorer for Ballarat was Matt Ward with 53 runs.

Captain Matt Goonan injured his ankle while fielding at cover and did not bat.

The BCA side will face Sale-Maffraon Tuesday at Central Reserve at Glen Waverley.
