INDIE pop band San Cisco is currently touring Australia as part of its Beach Tour, visiting cities across the country that rest by the shore.
Much to Ballarat's delight, the band has also included the goldrush town on its tour schedule as the only inland city.
According to San Cisco's guitarist Josh Biondillo, they are looking forward to bringing their tunes to Balllarat, no matter how far from beach-like the city may be.
"I feel like we've got a bit of a following there and our booking agent knows where all the crowds are so it's a good idea," he said.
Having released their self-titled debut album to critical acclaim at the end of last year, San Cisco has recently returned home to Australia after blitzing crowds at SXSW and across the US and the UK.
Biondillo said the quartet made a lasting impression overseas, earning support slots with bands The Vaccines and Darwin Deez while also playing their own headline shows.
Of course it doesn't take much to fall in love with these guys. Comprised of Biondillo on guitar, Jordi Davieson on lead vocals, Nick Gardner on bass and Scarlett Stevens on drums, this four-piece has melted hearts worldwide with its bright, quirky and heartwarming songs.
But San Cisco isn't only defined by their delightful songwriting. Their film clips form just as much of their identity as their songs.
Their hit single Awkward taken from the band's second EP was not only voted in to the top 10 of triple j's Hottest 100, but scored them almost 3,000,000 plays on YouTube.
Biondillo said the vibe of the video provided fans with an idea of what the band was all about.
"It was a good introduction to the band," Biondillo said.
And as the national tour slowly comes to an end, Biondillo said he can't wait to get recording again.
"We're feeling good about the album but I personally am ready to press on and get into recording mode again," he said.
"I think the debut it a good first stepping stone but it's not a smasher and it's not going to blow anyone's head off. It's a good place to take off from."
