Steve Marshall left the job on Monday, while a number of production staff at the WIN Television Ballarat office were made redundant yesterday, according to an anonymous source.
The source confirmed that Mr Marshall, one member from the IT department, and the whole production team had been made redundant.
“It’s very worrying, but at this stage it looks like that’s as far as the job losses will go,” the source said.
The news comes after WIN made all staff at their South Australia bureau redundant in February, ultimately closing the South Australian network down.
The Courier received several shocked phone calls from departing staff yesterday, many saying it would be difficult to find more work.
Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance branch secretary Louise Connor yesterday said she had been told little, but said she believed it was only production jobs that had been lost.
It is understood that the jobs will now be outsourced.
All efforts to contact WIN for comment yesterday failed.
