Built by Ballarat Construction Manage- ment early last year, the $1.2 million property has raked in five awards and featured on Foxtel’s Australia’s Best Houses program.
The award commended the luxury family home for “integrating the surrounding bush land whilst maintaining a contemporary design.”
Ballarat Construction Management director David Moyle – who also owns the property – said it goes without saying that he was proud as punch.
“The extremely high quality of workmanship is testament to our sub-contractors and I would like to thank and congratulate everyone involved,” Mr Moyle said.
“Ballarat businesses should be competing in these awards, and it goes to show anyone can win it; it was our first entry to HIA.”
Notably, HIA judges were impressed by a “wine barrel” door into a cellar with storage for more than 600 bottles.
The entry was among 28 short-listed finalists in the Western Victoria district and will now go on to the state awards.
Ballarat-based Advanced Cabinetry Pty Ltd received the best Renovation Addition/Kitchen Project award for a Mt Helen project.
The Courier visited the Mount Clear property when Australia's Best Houses filmed there in early August. Read the story and watch the video here.
