This year organisers have added a dash of star power to the Saturday night line-up, with The X Factor's Royce Twins and The Voice Australia's Imogen Brough putting on a special performance on a pontoon just off St Patrick's Point at Lake Wendouree.
The Royce Twins otherwise known as Michael and Gabriel Saalfield from Mt Helen said they were thrilled to be helping out a Ballarat event.
"We've been going to uni here for about four years," Michael said.
"It's a great opportunity and a great cause."
Festival director Frank Cotronea said this year's event promised to be bigger and better than ever.
"We've already got over 100 more stalls booked in than we had last year," Mr Cotronea said.
"All up, there will be more than 450 stalls around the lake."
Mr Cotronea said while the traditional Sunday markets would be big, the Saturday night entertainment and family night also promised to draw a crowd.
"There will be plenty of international food, a great line-up of performers on the night and it's completely free," he said.
"It's a strictly no-alcohol zone and it will be a great family-friendly night."
Mr Cotronea said there was a chance that Imogen, Michael and Gabriel could make a surprise appearance around the lake on the Sunday.
Springfest weekend is on November 2 and 3.
