Liggett spoke with Tour de France yellow jersey holder and former national road race champion Simon Gerrans, Simon Clark, Mitch Docker, Jessie McLean and Loes Gunnewijk at a team launch about their goals for the upcoming season and how they were feeling ahead of the MARS Cycling Australia Road National Championships.
"A world tour team like GreenEdge want to be national champions.
If you're the champion and you're the best, it's like you're two men and you want to show it off," Liggett told The Courier.
Gerrans said an early training regime had him in good form for Sunday's Buninyong circuit, where the road race will again be decided.
"I finished my 2013 season early at the Tour of Spain, so I started training late October," he said.
"The nationals are definitely a good hit out before the Tour Down Under.
"It would be an honour to (again) wear the green and gold jersey," Gerran said.
The national championships begin with time trials at Burrumbeet tomorrow.
