The Doctor Blake Mysteries, starring Australian actor Craig McLachlan, will begin on February 7 on ABC only months after
the show finished filming on the streets of the city.
Producer George Adams said he was delighted with how quickly the show was airing.
“Our plan had been to always get season two on the air within the year of season one being on the air,” he said.
“Especially these days, when people have a million ways to watch TV shows and there is a lot of great TV drama coming from all over the world.
“It is a little bit bigger this year. We were out and about a little bit more in Ballarat, which was fantastic.”
Sound and music were two of the components for the show that took the longest to do, Mr Adams said.
Season three is not out of the question, according to Mr Adams, who said he hoped the show would get another run.
“Everyone is making the right noises,” he said.
“We are quietly confident we will do as well as we did last year, maybe even a little bit better. We were the number one drama for the ABC in 2013.”
