Some lazed on picnic blankets and soaked up the sun, while others were on their feet and dancing to the sounds of local musical acts and Melbourne jazz five-piece Shirazz.
City of Ballarat destination and economy councillor Amy Johnson said it was an opportunity for the community to enjoy the warmer weather in one of Ballarat’s most beautiful public places at Lake Wendouree.
“It’s great to see people enjoying the beautiful weather, lots of kids up dancing and people bringing their picnic blankets,” she said.
“The crowd numbers have been increasing in size because word’s getting around about how good an event it is.”
Each week a different dessert has been featured, with cupcakes from Cake Bakeshop the sweet treat yesterday.
With an eclectic mix of music every week, the City of Ballarat series has been staged over the past three Sundays of January.
Next Sunday will bring more live music to the lake as part of Australia Day celebrations featuring the 3BA fireworks display.
