If you thought the weather was nice yesterday, you are going to love it today.
Almost a carbon copy of yesterday is forecast - a top of 24 degrees with a cooling southerly wind.
Like yesterday, there is a very slight chance of rain this morning, but it is highly unlikely that will happen.
Tomorrow is expected to warm up to 31 degrees, while Australia Day is expected to reach 26 degrees.
POLICE
Ballarat police did not report any incidents from overnight.
Meanwhile, Maryborough man Jesse Willis appeared in Ballarat Magistrates Court late afternoon relating to the death of Ricky Lee Ganly, whose body was found in a car, submerged in an abandoned mine shaft at the weekend.
However, a second man believed to be involved in the incident, Stuart Hutchinson, is still on the run.
The Homicide Squad investigations are continuing, with Willis to re-appear in court in June.
FIRE
One of the quieter nights for some time for our city's firefighters, with just the one call out for the night.
Crews were called to reports of a rubbish fire in the rear of a backyard in Wendouree.
However, upon arrival, it was found to only be a small fire that was not posing any threat.
AMBULANCE
Paramedics this morning attended an incident in Primrose Street, where a woman in her 20s had cut her ankle open after dropping a spirit bottle and smashing it on her leg.
Ambulance crews were received the call at 4.47am and took the woman to Ballarat Base Hospital, where she required stitches on her ankle.
SES
There were no incidents to report for our SES crews overnight, although they will certainly be out in force this weekend.
Throughout the Australia Day long weekend, members of the Ballarat SES unit will set up a Driver Reviver site at the Bungaree weighbridge on the Western Highway, where free tea and coffee will be offered.
TRAINS
There are lengthy delays on the Ballarat train line this morning, with some trains currently delayed by up to 30 minutes.
