Throughout the Australia Day long weekend, members of the Ballarat SES unit will be out in force to help as many drivers as possible get to their destination safely.
The national Driver Reviver program will again be under way.
SES crews will set up at the Bungaree Weighbridge, west bound on the Western Highway from 4pm on Friday, before the other side of the highway from 4pm on Monday.
Driver Reviver sites offer motorists free refreshments and a quiet, safe place to rest away from the roadway.
“We’d much rather have a friendly chat and a cuppa with you at a Driver Reviver site than cut you out of a crashed vehicle,” Ballarat Unit Controller John Maggi said.
