Facebook page supporting schoolgirl hit by car

A FACEBOOK page has been set up to support the recovery of the 15-year-old girl who was struck by a car on the first day of school this week.

The Support Aprils recovery page was set up less than 24 hours ago by April's aunt Crystal Sanders and already has more than 700 likes.

Ms Sanders said April had been made an administrator of the page so she could see the messages being sent to support her.

Ms Sanders said she hoped to generate donations as well as support through the page, but was still in the process of setting up how it will work.

"The TAC covers most expenses, but there are other expenses and hidden costs that pop up that the family will need help with, including their travels to Melbourne and accommodation," she said.

Details on how to donate will be posted on the page later.

Ms Sanders said the family had been overwhelmed by the continual support they had received from the community so far.
