IT is going to be a warm one today, with the mercury tipped to soar close to 40 degrees. The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a hot and sunny top of 38 degrees, which will be followed by an equally warm night. Temperatures will stay around 24 degrees, before reaching a top of 31 degrees tomorrow.
POLICE
Police attended to a car accident in Wendouree last night involving a 19-year-old man.
The incident occurred around 10.30pm on Dowling Street, where it is believed the driver travelled around a corner too quickly and crashed the trailer he was towing. Police said there were no injuries and said the man received a blood alcohol test.
Police said the criminal investigation unit were also kept busy overnight, but had limited information as to what incidents crews attended to.
FIRE
Ballarat City Fire crews were kept busy last night and into this morning.
Crews attended to a house fire on Eyre Street, Ballarat at 8.15pm last night. Crews said the fire was believed to be caused by food left unattended on the stove.
Half of the house was damaged and fire crews did the best they could to retrieve the occupants belongings.
Nobody was injured in the blaze.
AMBULANCE
Ambulance Victoria did not attend to any trauma cases last night.
