Yet she isn’t the first in her family to grace the stage.
The 18-year-old Clarendon College student’s mother, Dani Fry, and grandmother, Liz Hill (Kolisnyle), are no strangers to the iconic Ballarat theatre.
Combined, Molly’s mother and grandmother have clocked up hundreds of hours on stage at Her Majesty’s.
Speaking of her daughter’s debut in Ballarat Lyric Theatre’s production of Phantom of the Opera, Ms Fry said emotions would be running high when the curtains came up on the play on Friday night.
“There will be tears,” she said with a laugh.
“I’ll be sitting with my mother (Liz Hill) and it is sure to be pretty special.”
Molly, who auditioned for the experience, said she was “shocked and thrilled” when told she got the lead female role of Christine.
“This is all very, very exciting for me,” she said.
“And it makes it more special in that I kind of feel like I am carrying on a little family tradition.”
After months of rehearsals, the first full dress rehearsal was held last night.
