MATT Crouch has made a blistering start to his AFL career with the Adelaide Crows, picking up 23 disposals and seven tackles in the club’s opening NAB Challenge win over Port Adelaide on Sunday.

The well-rounded display earned the former North Ballarat Rebel a spot among the Crows’ best players for the match and sent out a timely reminder why Adelaide chose him with the 23rd pick in the 213 NAB AFL Draft.
“It was good to get the win. I guess in a practice game you’re still playing to win and Sando (coach Brenton Sanderson) drilled that into us before the game,” Crouch told the Adelaide Football Club Website.
“[It was a big step up] especially coming off junior footy and a little bit of senior footy back home, but nothing prepares you for AFL.”
The 18-year-old has huge shoes to fill this year, with older brother Brad putting together a stellar debut season last year that led to him finishing second in the NAB AFL Rising Star award.
