Samuel Hayward, 21, had his bail application refused in the Ballarat Magistrates Court on the grounds that he failed to show reasonable cause for his release.
Yesterday Hayward was charged with two counts of intentionally causing injury, two of criminal damage, one of attempting to intentionally cause injury, one of behaving in a riotous manner in a public place and one of using a controlled weapon without an excuse.
Ballarat Police informant Detective Senior Constable Troy Wickham told the court that Hayward had assaulted two people that were waiting in cars at the traffic lights turning into Little Bridge Street at approximately 5pm yesterday.
Hayward represented himself in court.
Magistrate Jonathan Klestadt said Hayward was a danger to the community.
Hayward has been remanded in custody and is expected to reappear in the Ballarat Magistrates Court on March 11.
