A black 4WD and a silver Corolla hatchback collided at the intersection at noon.
Debbie, who only wanted her first name used, said the intersection was dangerous.
“There’s been quite a few (accidents) over the time I’ve been here and I’ve been here for 12 years,” Debbie said.
“Some of them, you think they have to be dead but they’re not.
“I’ve had one nearly go through my house and today’s really scared me.”
A young woman from one of the vehicles was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital for observation and later released. A child travelling with her was unhurt.
An elderly woman driver was treated at the scene.
The extensively damaged 4WD came to rest on a fence while the Corolla’s front left side was also smashed in.
The intersection was closed for a short time.
Debbie said one of her neighbours had had her fence damaged several times by car collisions.
“Even a minute ago, I thought ‘not again’ when I heard a screech.”
