“It was just a shell when I got it, but I knew I had to do it because it is so rare,” Mr Harris said.
“I’m probably the only one in Victoria who owns one.”
Now, after a laborious 12 months, the final touches are being made on the truck just in time for this year’s Historic Vehicle Show.
Organised by the Historic Commercial Vehicle Club of Australia Ballarat branch, the annual show will feature an extensive range of vintage and classic vehicles, engines and machinery dating back to last century.
The event will also exhibit 80 motorcycles from the Antique Motorcycle Club of Australia.
With some vehicles fully restored and others in their original state, Mr Harris said the show would offer something for everyone.
“We hope people are able to see some lovely old vehicles right from the turn of the century,” Mr Harris said.
“We expect close to 200 vehicles, I will be exhibiting five, including trucks, cars and a van.”
