BALLARAT’s Big V Youth Women’s Championship team plays off for a title in the A grade women’s grand final in the City of Ballarat senior basketball tournament today.
Rush plays Melbourne University for the title on the Minerdome showcourt at 11.50am.
Ballarat defeated Keysborough in a semi-final, while Melbourne Uni had the better of Altona.
Ballarat’s Big V Youth Men’s Championship outfit was forced to forfeit its quarter final against Warrnambool owing to a clash with Big V commitments.
Warrnambool now meets favourite Melbourne Uni in a semi-final today at 10.55am.
Today is the last day of the three-event annual tournament.
ARARAT GIRLS SHINE AT BENDIGO
ARARAT athletes Tiffany Boatman and Sarah Blizzard enjoyed a day out at the Bendigo Gift meet on Sunday.
Boatman took out the prestigious Black Pearl 400m, while Blizzard saluted in the Bendigo Women’s Gift 120m
Boatman had her maiden final win in the 300m at the Ararat Gift in January.
Boatman and Blizzard are each coached by veteran Ararat sprinter Marcus Cooper, who made the final of Sunday’s Bendigo Gift.
