Basketball: Ballarat claims women's A grade title after a successful tournament weekend

BALLARAT has captured the women’s A grade title in the City of Ballarat Senior Basketball Tournament.

Ballarat’s Big V youth championship combination defeated the highly fancied Melbourne University by five points at the Minerdome yesterday.

Star Rush youngster Kasey Burton was named the most valuable player.

Keysborough missed the last shot of the game, leaving Warrnambool to celebrate.

Ballarat Basketball administration and events manager Mark Valentine said the 46th edition of the tournament had been successful, with almost 700 players taking part.
