A newly formed combined team from Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League ranks will join the competition, making its youth girls debut in a round two home fixture against Gisborne Rookies.
The BFL released the official draw yesterday, confirming that Redan and Ballarat will kick off the season in a grand final re-match at White Flat Reserve on May 4.
Three games will follow at White Flat – including Golden Point’s Victorian Women’s Football League debut – in a bumper opening day.
Youth girls clubs will get a taster of the season to come in a lightning premiership tournament at Alfredton Oval on April 27.
Each club will host two home fixtures, that will feature multiple youth girls games, through the home-and-away season.
BFL Youth Girls players again have the chance to compete in two representative games this season as part of the Goldfields Trophy against Bendigo in mid-June and the Bob Davis Trophy against Geelong at Eureka Stadium in July.
