Ricardo De Araugo performs juggling and rides a motorcycles through the Globe of Death.
Mr De Araugo said he was born into the circus and he loved it.
“I’ve done every bit of it – but the Globe of Death is my passion,” he said.
“I first tried it when I was about seven. I loved it straight away.”
Although he was born into a seventh generation circus family, he said his mother has never been able to watch
him ride in the Globe of Death.
Circus manager Anna Gasa said they hadn’t been to Ballarat for six to seven years.
“We’ve got a show that suits everybody, whether you’re three-years-old or 100,” Ms Gasa said.
She said the show had Las Vegas illusions, with a mix of classic circus tricks.
“We’ve got world class performers from Switzerland, Argentina, Germany, Brazil – all over the world.”
Ms Gasa said there were two stages, a front one and a back one, and something was always happening.
The show includes a hire wire act, bounce ball juggling, hoola hoops, clown, roman rings, Australia’s only football playing dogs and is performed in a heated tent which provides shelter from the cool weather.
