Sean Weir Fitness personal trainer Lacie Ryan will lead low-impact boot camps in the four weeks leading up to the event.
Ms Ryan’s mother is a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed in 2008.
“I participated in the Mother’s Day Classic in 2010 and 2011 and always get involved in Relay For Life,” Ms Ryan said.
“I’m passionate about these events and what we can do to help.
“I wanted to get further involved this year and help out, and thought what better way to get involved.”
Ms Ryan said the classes would suit all ages and fitness levels, and include running, basic drills and team-building activities.
Ballarat Mother’s Day Classic ambassador and breast cancer survivor Kate Gale said the classes were free, but if people wanted to give a gold coin donation, the proceeds would go towards the Mother’s Day Classic.
Ms Gale said they were still looking for volunteers, and anyone who wanted to help could email ballaratmdc@hotmail.com.
The Mother’s Day Classic is a six or 12 kilometre walk or run around Lake Wendouree.
It will raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
