Ballarat breakfast report: March 31

Not very good news for  train commuters so far this morning with multiple delays.

The 7:12am Southern Cross to Bacchus Marsh service has been replaced by coaches.

The 8.16am and the 8.36am from Bacchus Marsh to Southern Cross trains have also been replaced by coaches.

While these are the latest delays, there were even more earlier in the morning with commuters on some other services being forced onto buses.

V/Line are also advising delays of around 20 minutes in the Deer Park area for services that are still running.

Any guesses where our breakfast report picture was taken this morning.

Today looks like being a nice day to be outside.

We can expect a top of 29 degrees with no chance of rain.

This weather seems to be sticking around with a similar day forecast for tomorrow.

A quiet night for Ballarat Police with nothing of interest to report.

However,  a woman has been caught drink driving with a child in her car in Melbourne overnight.

Police were called to Clifton Hill after a Holden sedan collided with two parked cars just after 7pm.

Police attended the scene and discovered an unrestrained three-year-old child in the car, however, no one was injured in the incident.

The 41-year-old driver returned a positive breath test and was taken back to a police station where she blew 0.154.

The Clifton Hill woman had her licence suspended and is expected to be charged on summons with various traffic related offences including drink driving and careless driving.

A busy night for fire crews with multiple call outs.

Senior station officer Shane Phillips said crews were called to grass and scrub fires in Mount Helen, Durham Lead, and Sebastopol.

Later on in the evening fire crews were also called to a bin fire at Lake Gardens.

A quiet night from paramedics overnight with nothing to report.

Today we are heading out to Mount Clear to get all the information on the roadworks occurring in the area.
