Two weeks ago People@Work Ballarat launched the Big Egg Appeal to gather a number of Easter egg donations ahead of the holiday.
So far the team has received about 60 donations from the community, but more are needed.
“It is an ideal time to give something small and make a difference to a lot of children in the community that won’t be receiving eggs this Easter,” said regional People@Work Ballarat manager Michelle Williams.
“We are asking businesses and people in general to donate one or as many eggs as they like.”
Eggs received as part of the appeal will be given to United Way Ballarat for distribution to a number of welfare agencies.
This is the first Big Egg Appeal in Ballarat and Ms Williams hopes the event will be a regular occurrence.
“People can donate any form of Easter gift. We have a couple of soft toys, Easter books and baskets,” Ms Williams said.
“We would like to have a couple of hundred eggs to give to the community.”
Egg donations can be made to the People@Work Ballarat office at: 32 Doveton Street North, Ballarat.
People can arrange for the People@Work team to collect their donation by calling 5333 5730.
Donations must be received before April 14.
