But tomorrow, the mash-up duo will release its first EP of original music.
Entitled No. 1, the four-track offering features the vocal prowess of local musician Josh Haire on its lead single Undertow, as well as a collaboration with Fingertips.
Yacht Club’s Gareth Harrison said an EP of originals had been in the works for a long time.
“It’s something we have talked about, on and off, for years but it never felt right,” he said.
“We never wanted to force the idea of an EP – or any live music for that matter – until we had stuff we liked.
“We had some songs we felt matched up with the ethos of Yacht Club so we went with it.”
The EP is set to be released alongside the duo’s Oddity Number 5 tour, which will travel the east coast promoting its latest mixtape – also named Oddity Number 5.
Harrison said the release of a debut EP had created an urge to continue recording original work.
“It’s really just started me off and I want to get another one out straight away,” he said.
“We want to do an album, especially because of the way we make music, it just makes sense.
“Until then, we’ll keep pumping out a whole lot of EPs and mixtapes.”
The Yacht Club DJs will perform at Karova Lounge on April 17.
