A slightly better day for Mother's Day today with only a small chance of rain and a top of 16 degrees.
You can expect this weather to stick around for the majority of the week with similar temperatures predicted.
POLICE
Ballarat police reported a steady but mostly quiet night with nothing of interest to report.
Elsewhere in the state, police are conducting an operation targeting thefts from unlocked cars.
Police have been patrolling car parks and streets in a bid to identify any unlocked cars, issuing letters to registered car owners alerting them to the fact their vehicle is unsecured.
So far they have issued 91 warnings in Benalla, 66 in Mitchell and 27 in Shepparton.
This operation is expected to continue until the end of May.
FIRE
Fire crews attended reports of a house fire in Mount Pleasant and a hay bale fire in Delacombe.
AMBULANCE
Nothing to report from local paramedics.
TRAINS
Track works are still being conducted between Ballarat and Maryborough so coaches will be operating on this part of the journey.
