Michael Jamison's night out in front of goal for Carlton

CARLTON’S win over St Kilda on Monday night had special significance for Newlyn export Michael Jamison.

The Blues’ key defender kicked the second goal of his AFL career.

Jamison admitted to having nerves as he lined up a set shot from 25 metres.

“I think over my career I've kicked 1.6, so it was nice to get one back on the good side,” he told AFL.com.au post match.

"I was actually nervous. I knew what I would have copped back at the club if I missed it."

Jamison has played 118 AFL games after being drafted from the North Ballarat Roosters.


BALLARAT district greyhound trainers shared in the spoils at Morshead Park on Monday.

This gives the son of Cosmic Rumble three wins in five career starts – two in Ballarat and on at Bendigo.

Cape Clear’s Gary Peach produced Cruisen Billy ($2 favourite) for a win in the Midland Irrigation  Maiden, 390m – racing away b y almost four lengths.

Run On Rosey (($1.60 favourite) romped romped home by more than eight lengths for Sam Bonaccurso, of Mt Mercer, in the Catering Allsorts Maiden, 545m.
