Melbourne Queer Film Festival at M.A.D.E

Details: For the first time, the Melbourne Queer Film Festival will be presenting selected films in Ballarat, including the opening and the closing movies from the recent Melbourne festival - which is the oldest queer film festival in Australia and the largest queer film festival in the southern hemisphere. The film screenings include Any Day Now (2014) directed by Travis Fine, Reaching for the Moon (2014) directed by Bruno Barreto and a special shorts film compilation. The movies are all rated 18 +. Ararat Boot Camp Weekend with The Biggest Loser trainer Shannan Ponton
When: Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 8

Details: Ararat achieved recent public weight loss TV glory and now residents and visitors can part in the very first Ararat Boot Camp Weekend. Participants of all ages and fitness levels can attend. The Boot Camp Weekend experience will include physical challenges, healthy meals, relaxation sessions, plus a day trip to the scenic Grampians region to visit the picturesque Mt William. Participants will receive official Ararat Boot Camp team gear (including t-shirt, cap and drink bottle) and healthy meals. Cost is $80. 19th annual Ballarat Choral Festival

Details: The Choral Festival offers a non-competitive program of singing by all ages for all ages, for those who find joy in music and song. The program this year includes 10 choirs; a children's and adult choir from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St Patrick's Cathedral Choir, St Patrick's College boys' choir, the St Cecilia Singers and Golden Voices Choir, Phoenix College choir, Loreto College Las Estralles singers, Clarendon College Chamber Choir, and St Columba's PS choir; which all promise to offer a wonderful afternoon's entertainment.
